A collaboration with 7N Architects to develop a new landscape framework for West Edinburgh, focusing around the A8 corridor and the proposed International Business Gateway (IBG) development. The aim of the landscape framework is to ensure that new development incorporates high quality green infrastructure in keeping with its location as a major gateway to Scotland. The study is intended to enable the phased realisation of a co-ordinated and deliverable network of high quality green spaces as a setting for future development, and an opportunity to enhance the city’s identity and create a strong gateway to one of the world’s great capitals.  A landscape framework was developed which comprises key principles of extending the existing Policy Landscape character in the surrounding area, strengthening the identity of the A8 road experience and creating and supporting habitat connections outwith WELF site.
