After a long and rewarding career in landscape architecture, including establishing horner + maclennan with Roz Maclennan in 2002, I will be retiring from the Practice with effect from 31 March 2026.
I have been fortunate and grateful during my career to have collaborated with such a wide range of talented, committed and enthusiastic professionals across a range of disciplines which has made my working life such an absolute joy. Equally, the support of Roz and our staff past and present have assisted me in bringing to fruition a large number of landscape projects which we can be justifiably proud of.
Whilst I’ll clearly miss the exciting challenge that each new project brings and the satisfaction derived from seeing design ideas translate from drawing board into reality, I’m excited about the next stage in my life as I take on the challenge of creating a modernist coastal garden on the exposed North-West coast of the Isle of Skye and ease myself into a more relaxed and gentle way of life.
I leave the Practice in the capable hands of Roz Maclennan and at a time when the Practice is engaged in a series of major new and ongoing projects throughout Scotland. Roz will take all our projects forward following my retirement and I’m sure that she will continue the positive working relationships developed with Clients and fellow consultants over the last 24 years.
